Les Cardayres is a luxurious stone farmhouse which combines rustic French charm with contemporary comfort. It has been restored with great care and retains its wooden beams throughout.

The spacious, stone-walled kitchen is fully equipped with gas range and oven, fridge freezer, microwave and espresso maker. A ceramic double sink and large capacity dishwasher make cleaning up as painless as possible! A large oak table and chairs seats 8 people with ease, perfect for breakfast or large dinners. The kitchen is well stocked with plates, silverware, water and wine glasses, as well as plenty of cooking utensils. The kitchen is light and airy with windows on one side looking over the front of the house, and double French doors on the other side leading onto the large tiled terrace, perfect for al fresco dining. Steps from the terrace lead to the private 10m x 5m heated swimming pool and substantial garden with shrubs and fruit trees.

The large entrance reception room is a spacious area with cathedral height ceilings and original wooden beams. There is ample space for hanging coats and jackets, and storing suitcases.A leather-top desk is provided if you need to work while staying at the farmhouse. House and local information is located in a file on the desk. The entire ground floor is open-plan, with the large kitchen and the lounge located on either side of the entrance reception. High quality tiles are used throughout, creating a very open feel.

The spacious lounge is also stone-walled, with two large and comfortable sofas easily seating 6 people. Sky TV, DVD and CD players are provided for entertainment, as well as a selection of board games. The house is equipped with satellite WiFi which works well. A wood-burning stove sits in the corner of the lounge, beautifully heating the room (and more), during the winter months. Wood is stored in the garage. Two sets of double French doors, and a large window allow light to flood into the lounge at all times of the day. One set of doors leads to the back patio and gardens.

The master bedroom is very large and airy with en suite bathroom. With stone walls and beautiful original wood posts, the room has a great deal of character, and is much more than a place to sleep! Double doors from the bedroom lead to a large outside terrace. Two chairs, a table and a large parasol are provided. The terrace overlooks the swimming pool, with wonderful views over the Dordogne countryside.

The second bedroom is located at the other side of the house on the first floor. A large room with an exceptionally comfortable double bed. Closet space provided. The window overlooking the garden allows plenty of light into the bedroom, giving it an open and airy feel.

The third bedroom is also located on the first floor, along the corridor from the second bedroom. It has two single beds making it ideal for children. This bedroom has stone walls and wooden beams, giving it much character. Windows again look over the gardens, and make the room light and spacious. The gallery area on the first floor is a large open area. A sofa bed is provided in this gallery, opening into a comfortable double bed. The gallery also makes for a very comfortable and light area to sit and play board games. A perfect second communal area, particularly for children.

The farmhouse is secluded without being isolated It is set in an acre of its own land, surrounded by vineyards, woods and farmland. Yet it is only 5 km from the beautiful and iconic medieval village of Monbazillac, and 12 km from Bergerac and the Dordogne River. Les Cardayres is also ideally situated for exploring this wonderful area of France, with its medieval Bastide towns, renowned wines and activities on the Dordogne River.
