Rent a house in France!
Les Lavandes has a mature garden, a swimming pool with loungers and parasols and a driveway entrance with parking. A pretty terrace wraps round the side of the house, and widens into a patio just outside the sliding doors of the living area, and overlooks a vineyard. There is a built-in barbecue and outdoor dining table seating up to ten people.
From the porch you enter the house into the spacious open-plan living/dining area ahead, with a well equipped modern kitchen to the left. A cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and two fridges are included, as are all utensils as well as small appliances such as kettle, and toaster. The dining table will seat up to ten people.
Comfortable sofas are grouped around the log burning fireplace (perfect for off season stays). The living area has air conditioning, and the house is equipped with full central heating for the winter months.
From the kitchen area a corridor gives access to the two bedrooms on this side of the house, and the bathroom with shower, WC and basin. The first bedroom overlooks the front of the house and has a king sized bed, the second bedroom overlooks the pool area and has two single beds. Both bedrooms have fitted wardrobes for plenty of storage and hanging space. At the end of the corridor is a through room, perfect for use as a changing room. From there a door gives access to the pool room, with sink and fridge (great for drinks), where pool towels and toys are stored, and from where you have access to the pool area.
Behind the sitting area is the TV room, equipped with a flat screen TV (satellite reception), DVD player and CD player, as well as the internet router for broadband internet access (WiFi or Ethernet).
To one side of the TV room is the second bathroom with shower cabin, WC and wash basin. On the other side are bedrooms three and four. Bedroom three has a king size bed and is a very attractive room with a high ceiling and wooden beams. This bedroom overlooks the terrace at the side of the house. Bedroom four is on two levels with two single beds: one on the ground level and the second on a mezzanine above. This room is ideal for older children. Both bedrooms have walk in closets for storage and hanging.

Cesseras - three minute walk from the house - is a mediaeval village, set at the foot of the Montagne Noire; perfect for hikers, ramblers and cyclists - bike hire available locally and delivered to the house for your arrival! The village has a popular bar and a good shop, which has fresh bread and croissants every morning.
Cesseras is one of just five villages authorised to boast the Minervois La Livinère sub-apellation. Our local wine is of very high quality, and at affordable prices, you really ought to try some!
The local market (Tuesday, and its excellent) town of Olonzac is a five minute drive away, with a good range of shops and facilities.

The area immediately behind the house has some very wonderful countryside; vineyards and fruit trees abound. And the views to the Pyrenees are breath-taking. Around the local Minervois villages are a great variety of walks and these are marked in the Les Lavandes booklet which was produced by the local tourist office.
Below Les Lavandes is the Aude plain with its relatively flat terrain. And just a few kilometres further is the Canal du Midi with a shaded cycle path along its peaceful banks.
Two minutes from the house, the local and rarely used tennis court is available for the use of guests free of charge.
